HSE Administrative Assistant – HCC

 

JOB SUMMARY

A successful candidate for the North Slope Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Administrative Assistant position will provide field support for pipeline construction during the 2024 Project Season in Prudhoe Bay-Kuparuk under contract to Conoco Phillips. There are two (2) openings available for this project. This position is a field-based project position, working 10-12 hours a day on a 3x3 rotational shift schedule that will run from approximately January 5th, 2024, to April 15th, 2024. This position reports directly to the HCC NS HSE Project Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·         Ability to work productively without direct supervision on a daily basis.

·         Ability to maintain a positive and professional interface with Client representatives at all times.

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality of Company and Client sensitive and/or proprietary information.

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality of personal employee information.

·         Support other AES-HCC departments with solutions as needed.

·         Contribute to managing HSE related recordkeeping databases and files, including incident management database, safety critical equipment database, and others with a high degree of accuracy.

·         Facilitate the procurement, stocking and maintaining inventory of safety gear and equipment for employees.

·         Ability to safely drive in arctic and inclement weather conditions.

·         Accurate and timely completion of all required paperwork.

·         Support Safety and Trust as a core value and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

·         Ability and willingness to abide by AES-HCC code of conduct, policies, and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         Valid Driver’s License

·         Three (3) years of experience as an HSE Administrative Assistant in the Oil and Gas industry and/or on the North Slope

·         A recognized degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or Physical Sciences required

·         Able to work 70 – 84 hours a week on a 3x3 rotation required

·         Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

·         Ability to speak effectively before large groups of employees or customers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Incident Management System, Shield (AIS), and other relevant databases

·         Experience with HSE Documentation

·         Lack of formal education increases experience requirements on a year-for-year- basis

 

CERTIFICATIONS

·         North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification required

 

ARCTIC GEAR

Candidates will be expected to provide their own personal Arctic/Cold-weather gear. Employees should dress in layers that are rated to protect against -45ºF and an associated windchill as low as -50ºF.

 

·         Base Layer: Wool or polyester long johns, shirt, and socks – designed to wick away moisture

·         Mid Layer: Wool, polyester or microfiber/fleece hoody and leggings with zippers, collar or draw cords to allow for release of perspiration

·         Outer Layer: Quilted down, Thinsulate, polyester/hollow fiber, wind-proof outer jacket and insulated bibb style pants

 

HEAD, HANDS, FEET:

·         Wooly or fur hat

·         Wool, Thinsulate, micro-fleece scarf or balaclava

·         Arctic Boots with safety toe and with removable liner – a replacement liner is recommended to allow one to dry while the other is being worn

·         Outer gloves-gauntleted-style mittens and thin Thinsulate or microfiber fleece under gloves

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.  All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms.   Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.  Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.  Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.  Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:                                                              

 

·         Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.

·         Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing. 

·         Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.                    

·         Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam 

·         Required to complete and successfully pass a background check. 

·         Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
