MUST BE AN ARCTIC SLOPE REGIONAL CORPORATION SHAREHOLDER

AES is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Arctic Slope Regional Corporation, the largest Native Regional Corporation in Alaska. ASRC represents the Inupiat people of Alaska's North Slope.

The Intern is responsible for providing support on a variety of tasks and projects in a specific department while gaining experience and skills in a professional environment. This position completes projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

This is a temporary position available to college students, work hours are limited to no more than 20 hours a week during the school year and 40 hours a week during the summer/winter breaks.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (AND OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED)

  • Provide administrative support to department staff as required.
  • Volunteer Time, in-door and out-door activities.
  • Observe and assist with department programs, services, and other tasks.
  • Prepare project reports and progress summary on assigned tasks.
  • Operate various software applications to create departmental level communications and reports.
  • Conduct special research in conjunction with a project and analyze gathered data.
  • Attend meetings and trainings to acquire knowledge and skills within the department.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support the AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

 

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required. Current enrollment in an accredited institution with a minimum 2.0 GPA required. Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.

 

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Must provide copy of ASRC Stockholder ID Card.
  • Must provide a copy of letter of acceptance from an accredited educational institution or high school transcripts for new enrolled freshmen.
  • Must provide a copy of most recent transcripts with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA or higher.
  • Must provide a copy of class registration (9 credits minimum).
  • Must provide a cover letter with desired work, add-in available work schedule and attached resume.

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:                                                              

  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.                         
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.

The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
